City & County Government

The City of Laredo has a council/manager form of government with a mayor and eight city council members, elected at-large, serving four year terms. The City Council meets the first and third Monday of the month and are televised on cable channel 13.

Webb County is divided into four precincts, with a commissioners court having jurisdiction over each. A county judge presided over the Commissioners' Court. The Commissioners Court meets every second and fourh Monday of the month and are televised on cable channel 13.

Texas residents are allowed to vote at age 18 and older. An individual must register at least 30 days prior to an election and be a resident of the state. Voter registration is valid for two years.
