Laredo Independent School District

LISD has an enrollment of more than 23,000 students. It is home to more than 30 educational institutions; twenty-six elementary, five middle and four high schools, and the cities and South Texas' only art magnet school: The Vidal M. Trevino School of Communication and Fine Arts. The district is accredited by the Texas Education Agency and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. LISD employs more than 1,740 of the finest administrators, teachers, and support staff. Many of its professionals have years of teaching experience and have earned advanced degrees in their chosen fields.

United Independent School District

UISD had an enrollment of over 20,000 students. It is home to more than thirty educational institutions; twenty-four elementary, eight middle and four high schools, and the cities and South Texas' only health professions magnet school: The John B. Alexander Professions Magnet School, emphasis of this learning center is on science and math.

Laredo Community College

LCC is a comprehensive community college offering academic transfer courses, applied technology, career programs, adult education, continuing education, community service courses and much more. LCC is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award a two-year Associate in Arts and Associate in Science degrees; one-year and shorter certificates of completion are awarded in certain applied programs.

Texas A&M International University

TAMIU is the state's first institution of higher learning to be completed in the 21st century. It joined the Texas A&M University System in 1989 and changed its name to Texas A&M International University in 1993. In 1995 the University evolved into a comprehensive institution. The University offers bachelors and master's degrees and was authorized to offer select doctoral degree programs. Academic programs include Arts and Humanities, Business Administration, Education, Science & Technology with a special focus on developing a strong undergraduate program.
